Providing a cat, dog, puppy, or kitten with a place to live outside of a shelter and a cage is an integral part of the adoption process. Many animals are too young for adoption and need an environment where they aren't exposed to the diseases commonly found in shelters, and where they can experience large amounts of social interaction. Other animals have spent the majority of their lives in a home, and do not cope well with living in a cage after being abandoned or surrendered by their owners. By opening up your home to these animals in need, you significantly increase their chances at finding a furrever home. In addition to providing them with a healthier environment where they can thrive, you will learn more about their personalities, giving them a better chance at finding a compatible permanent home.
CSTAR Animal Care works closely with many local rescues and shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent to a companion animal in need, please contact us at
volunteers@cstarnj.org so that we can put you in touch with a local animal welfare group looking for foster parents. Be sure to let us know what township you live in and what type of animals you are interested in fostering (cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, senior animals, special needs animals, etc) so we can match you up with the right group.
